The Merida Ninety Six 9 9000 is an incredible high-performance dual suspension mountain bike designed for cross country racing. The Ninety Six 9 9000 is built with Merida’s highest-quality carbon, the CF5 frame which is made with a Nano Matrix Carbon which has fibres bonded together with an epoxy resin and added nano particles, increasing impact resistance by up to 40% and protecting the integrity of the carbon frame in high-intensity racing. Merida’s design principles result in a significantly lighter, stiffer and stronger frame. While the cables, housings and brake hoses are clamped under tension to prevent rattling when the trail gets rough and all inlets are completely interchangeable to deal with potential Di2 upgrades, hydraulic hoses, brake cable and gear cable housings etc.
The Ninety Six 9 9000 is equipped with a 12 speed Shimano XTR groupset which offers swift and efficient power on all terrain. The Shimano XTR components are complimented by a Fox Factory 32 Float fork with 100mm travel and a Fox Factory Float Rear Shock. Features
Nano Matrix Carbon: To protect the integrity of carbon frames, the fibres are bonded together with an epoxy resin with added nano particles, increasing impact resistance by up to 40%.
AWS: When creating the individual carbon elements, an inflatable bladder is used to ensure there are no wrinkles inside the tube as these can add weight and create weakness. This results in a lighter, stiffer and stronger frame.
Carbon Fork: Carbon forks provide superb vibration damping and precise steering. All road bikes feature a full carbon fork; the steerer and fork blades are all made of carbon.
HFS - Hydro Forming System: Tubes are inserted into negative moulds and a hot emulsion of water and oil is forced through at pressure, enabling them to be formed into complex shapes.
X-Taper Headtube: Using a tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom creates superb stiffness and precise, confidence inspiring steering.
Race Link: A single-pivot rear suspension system optimised for XC riding and 1x drivetrains. A super light (80g) carbon rocker and linkage system create a light, efficient rear end, eliminating pedal-bob.
Internal Cable: Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.
Smart Entry: Cables, housings and brake hoses are clamped under tension to prevent rattling when the trail gets rough. All inlets are completely interchangeable to deal with Di2, hydraulic hoses, brake cable and gear cable housings etc.
